The Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation (VCMRF) will hold its 18th Annual David C. Fainer, MD, Awards Dinner, Thursday, February 10, 2011, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ventura.
There are nine ‘healthcare heroes’ who will be recognized at the event and they include Health Care Agency Director Michael B.Powers (Health Care Professional of the Year), Robert Lefkowitz, MD (Physician of the Year), the late James Giles, MD (Physician Emeritus), Rebecca Swift, RN (Hospital Nurse of the Year), Margaret Friis, RN (Community Nurse of the Year), Norm Nagel, DDS (Dentist of the Year), Linda Gertson, Ph.D (Psychologist of the Year), John T. Bailey, PharmB, MPH (Volunteer of the Year) and for Extraordinary Service, the Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation.
This event salutes health care professionals for their personal commitment and dedication to supporting the medical profession and healthcare needs in Ventura County.
Robert Boehm, VCMRF Chairman of the Board, said the honorees have spent most of their professional careers demonstrating their concern for others and reflect the late Dr. Fainer’s personal ethics, professional performance and selfless contribution to healthcare. Dr. Fainer was the director of the nationally recognized Family Medicine Residency Program, and medical director of internal medicine at Ventura County Medical Center.
