Colleen was a member of the Methodist Church and many other organizations in Fillmore. We will always remember Colleen for her generosity, friendliness and helpfulness in all the lives she has touched. She was born March 14, 1920 in Findlay, Ohio, and had been a county resident for 15 years, coming from Sacramento.Mrs. Snell was retired after 30 years of service with Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company. She enjoyed gardening, and belonged to the Pacific Telephone Company Pioneers.She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Stelling of Cathedral City; stepson Darrell Snell of Benecia; stepdaughter Tina Snell of Petaluma; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Robert Russell of Ohio; sister Lillian Ellenberger of Ohio; five nieces and four nephews; and a fiancé, Nicholas J. Corsinita of Santa Paula.Services will be held on Saturday, February 1 at 11:30 a.m. in the Rancho Santa Paula Clubhouse, 500 W. Santa Maria, Santa Paula. Burial is in Santa Paula Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1510 San Andres St., Santa Barbara, CA 93101.

Addie D. James
Addie D. James, 97, passed away January 21 at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital with three generations of family at her bedside.Addie was born November 19, 1905 to the union of Thomas E. and Pearl S. Drane. She was born in Indian Territory, which became the state of Oklahoma when she was 2 years old.Addie was the daughter of a farmer and was born on farmland that remains in the family. She was also the wife of a farmer, and was happiest spending time in her flower or vegetable gardens, with dirt under her nails. She worked in the Housekeeping Department of Ventura County Hospital, from which she retired.Addie is survived by her daughter Dorothea “Dottie” (William) Armbruster of Santa Paula; son, R. Keith (Kathy James) of Lakeview, Arkansas; grandchildren, W. Scott Armbruster, Debi Bisbee, Holly Pizula, Tina Stephens, Paul Armbruster and Lori Palmer; great grandchildren, Justin and Taylor Stephens, Allyson, Matthew, Andrew and Lindsay Pizula, Katie, India and Griff Bisbee, Caleb Armbruster, and Melissa; as well as two great-great grandchildren. Addie is also survived by her older sister, Lennie Nugent, and her younger sister, Louise Ritter, both of Santa Paula.Addie’s family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital as well as Dr. Emilie Rogg and Dr. Carl Constantine. She was a long time resident of Fillmore and Santa Paula.Colleen was born in Austin, Texas to Herbert and Mabry Williamson, who preceded her in death in 1983, along with her husband Clair John (Red) Herrill in 1994. Colleen graduated from Kearny High School, Linda Vista, California, in 1947. She attended San Diego State.She met Red Herrill at San Diego State and they married December 27, 1950. They were residents of Fillmore, where Red was a teacher and coach at Fillmore High School and Colleen worked for the school district. They moved to Santa Paula in 1985. Colleen worked for several physicians in the area for many years.Colleen is survived by her two children, Jason Herrill and Joy Padilla; five grandchildren, Lisa Padilla, Anthony Padilla, Jassica Padilla, J. J. Herrill, and Sara Herrill; and two sisters, Jodi Franklin and husband Sterling Franklin of Kerrville, Texas, and Wanda Warren of Deming, New Mexico.
