Beulah StocktonBeulah Stockton went to be with her Lord on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1999.She was born Beulah Belle Underwood, to Richard and Emma Jane Underwood, on February 24, 1913 in Healdton, Oklahoma. She married Marshall Stockton in 1932, and moved to California in 1936. In 1942 they settled in Santa Paula, an area she referred to as “God’s country.”An active member of the First Christian Church of Santa Paula, she especially enjoyed the sewing group of which she called herself the “quilting lady.” She donated many quilts to Boys & Girls Clubs and various organizations.She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991, and her son Ronald in 1993.Beulah was dearly loved and will be missed by her children, who include Lois and Bill Payne of Camarillo, Louis (Bud) and Gail Stockton of San Diego, Sonja and David Pascual of San Jose, and Ron’s wife Jacqueline (Jackie) Stockton of Hanford. She took great pride and joy in her 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.Her family expresses gratitude to those who extended care and kindness to her, including Dr. Stegman, Rita and June; Darlene, Leticia and Veronica; Mr. and Mrs. Reed of Camarillo; and the staff and residents of Santa Paula Healthcare.Donations may be made to the First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ, Santa Paula, or the charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary in Santa Paula.Irene ThomasIrene Thomas, age 89, of Santa Paula, passed away December 25, 1999. She was born November 30, 1910 in Franklin, Nebraska, and was a county resident for 14 years.She worked as a secretary for 20 years for Gene Conroy and Assoc. in Studio City.She is survived by her sons, Donn (Lamoyne) Thomas of Fresno, and Larry (Carolyn) Thomas of Santa Paula; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.Services will be held on Thursday, December 30 at 10 a.m. at the Skillin-Carroll Chapel in Santa Paula, Rev. He was born November 22, 1951 in Brownsville, Texas.Mr. Cantero worked for CBC Port Hueneme for a year after coming from Point Mugu, where he worked for 13 years as an office service assistant.He is survived by his wife Anna; daughters Anita and Mary Cantero, both of Santa Paula; daughter and son-in-law Annette and Vincent Ybarra of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters Gloria Hernandez and Rita Valencia, and brothers Juan, Luis and Robert Cantero, all of Santa Paula; and his granddaughter, Cierra E. Hernandez, whom he loved dearly.Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 31 at 11 a.m. at the Stetler Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Jose Vindel of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church officiating.In lieu of flowers, a trust has been established in the name of his granddaughter Cierra E. Nel Fyock, age 75, of Santa Paula, passed away at home December 22, 1999. She was born December 10, 1924 in Universal, Pennsylvania, and was a county resident for 30 years.A housewife, she was a member of the Santa Paula congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.She is survived by her husband, Owen Fyock; daughter, Marsha Fornof; son, Richard Fornof; brothers, John Opris and David Opris; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, in-laws, and dear friends.Services were held December 28 at the Santa Paula Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.Arrangements under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, Santa Paula.Carmen Segovia YanezCarmen Segovia Yanez, age 92, of Piru, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 1999 in Fillmore after a brief illness.Mrs. Yanez was born in Santa Paula on August 7, 1907, and was a lifelong county resident.
