Jose Richard PazJose Richard Paz, 55, of Santa Paula, passed away suddenly on January 12, 2003 in Bakersfield.Mr. Paz was born March 13, 1937 in Mexico. He was a retired driver and lived in Ventura County for 55 years.Jose is survived by his sons, Joe Paz of Los Angeles, Raymond Paz of Texas, and Mark Paz of Lawndale; daughter Irma Beltran of Santa Paula; sisters, Carmen Garcia and Hope Mata of Santa Paula; and brothers, Manuel Paz of Ventura; Rudy Paz of Santa Paula, and Benjamin Paz of San Diego.Visitation is scheduled on January 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Stetler Chapel. Rosary will follow visitation at 7 p.m. A service will be held on Monday, January 20, 10:30 a.m. at Pierce Brothers Stetler Chapel with burial to follow at Pierce Brothers Cemetery, Santa Paula.Memorial contributions may be made to Carmen Garcia at 808 E. Santa Barbara St., Santa Paula, CA 93060.Services for Mr. Paz are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula, 525-5595.Suanne White (Wiley)Suanne Wiley died January 5, 2003 in Carson City, Nevada.Suanne was born May 27, 1925 in Carthage, Missouri. She married the love of her life, William Dawson Wiley, Jr. on July 22, 1944 in Midland, Texas.Sue loved being a wife to Bill and making a home for their four children. Bill was tragically taken from their family in June of 1967. She went to work for Santa Paula High School, and then went on to work for Dr. John Shilton, M.D. She remarried Billy (Whitey) White, and they settled in Arkansas. Whitey passed away and she came back to be with her children.Mom was a loving and kind woman who taught us about life, love and the appreciation for what we have been given. Though she left this world she will remain in our hearts forever.She will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: her sons, Michael D. Wiley and wife Janet of Carson City, and Douglas D. Wiley and Lisa; her daughters, Christine Davidson of Visalia, and Tana Ramirez and husband Rudy of Santa Paula; seven grandchildren, Patty McCowan and husband Kirk and Jennifer Davidson of Visalia, Janis Simmons and husband Scott and Joey Ramirez and wife Olivia of Santa Paula, Joanna Wiley of Carson City, and Stacey Wiley and Stevey Conover of Oxnard; and seven great grandchildren, Karley, Bret and Taylor McCowan, and Kelsey Davidson of Visalia, and Lindsay and Austin Simmons and Andrew Joseph Ramirez of Santa Paula.

WhittakerThomas M. Whittaker, 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 in Santa Paula. Mr. Whittaker surrendered after a long battle with stroke-induced Parkinson’s disease.Mr. Whittaker was born August 16, 1931 in Whittier, California. He was a resident of Ventura County for 17 years.Thomas was retired from Occidental Petroleum Corporation, where he was a petroleum engineer for 16 years. He was a member of the Petroleum Production Pioneers.Thomas is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Virginia Whittaker, and sons Bruce Whittaker, Scott Whittaker and Brian Whittaker. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Lower, and son, Harry Whittaker.Services are scheduled on January 22 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Santa Paula. Father Chris Jubinski will officiate.
