Josephine Siqueido Josephine Siqueido, age 88, of Santa Paula, passed away January 6, 2002 in Santa Paula following a lengthy illness.Mrs. Siqueido was born January 21, 1913 in Sonora, Mexico and was an 81-year Ventura County resident. She was employed for 60 years as a packer for Mupu Packing.She is survived by daughter Roseanna Ledesma (husband Joe) of Santa Paula; grandchildren, Melissa Ledesma (partner Arthur) of Thousand Oaks, Brittany Ledesma of Santa Paula, Lorie Ponce (husband Jonathan) of Canyon Country, Alberta Ortega (husband Rusty) of Piru, Liza Carter (partner Lori) of Santa Barbara, Eric Carter (wife Shannon) of Santa Barbara, and Ladawn Carter (partner Lupe) of Santa Paula; and great-grandchildren, Shane, Brandy, Alex, Jessica, Joshlynn, Austin, E. J., and Anthony. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 1988, and a daughter, Eliza Carter in 1983.Mass will be Friday, January 11 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Santa Paula. Burial will follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, Santa Paula.Shirley Ann YatesShirley Ann Yates, of Santa Paula, passed away on January 7, 2002 at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness. She was a 20-year county resident coming from Carpinteria.
Shirley was born on February 6, 1932 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Fred and Myrtle Oakman. She was employed by Fillmore Convalescent Center as a registered nurse. Shirley devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and special friend, along with her passion for nursing.She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone who knew her. Shirley is survived by her husband, Mike J. Bliss of Santa Paula; daughter, Denise Hernandez of Montclair; daughter and son-in-law, Sharisse and Robert Ayala of Van Nuys; daughter, Camille Yates of Ventura; daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Robert Jimenez of Ventura; 10 grandchildren, Shawn, Tony, Joey, Angie, Matthew, Jonny, Bryan, Nick, Emily and Jacob; six great-grandchildren, Jaime, Shawn Jr., Ricky, Ruby, Christian and Anthony; and close friends, Barbara, Novelle and Beverly. Shirley was preceded in death by her dear friend, Charlene.A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held by family and close friends.As an expression of love, memorial donations may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Fillmore Convalescent Center, Activities Fund, 118 “B” St., Fillmore, CA 93015.Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, Santa Paula.
