Jerry Herrera Reyes, 48, of Ventura, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2006.Jerry was born October 15, 1957 in Santa Paula, and was a Ventura County resident all of his life. Jerry worked in the construction trades until he was forced to retire due to poor health.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Reyes and Nellie Reyes, and one brother, Robert Reyes.Jerry is survived by his daughter Aurelia Reyes Sanchez and son-in-law Miguel Sanchez, and granddaughters Vanessa, Elizabeth and Analia of Modesto, CA; brother Paul and wife Amparo and their children, Paul Jr., Randy and David Reyes; brother Tommy Reyes; brother Chris, wife Irene and their sons Art and John and daughters Elisa and Jennifer; sister Rosemary and her sons Jaime and Eddie; sister Lupe, her husband Salvador and their children Gabriel, Danny, Ben and Marie; sister Lisa, her husband Leonard and their children, Steven, Matthew and Jobie; and sister Arlene and her children Jolene and Christine.Jerry,Our brother, you have touched our lives in one way or another; you left a mark with each and every one of us. For that you will always be remembered.I commend to almighty God and entrust you to your Creator. May you return to him who formed you from the dust of the earth. May holy Mary, the angels and all the saints come to meet you as you go forth from this life.May Christ, who was crucified for you, bring you freedom and peace. Carmen Gomez
Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Carmen Gomez, 59, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2006.Carmen was born on July 16, 1946 in Ventura, and was a lifelong resident of Santa Paula. She was active in Latin Assemblies of God Templo Getsemani Church of Santa Paula and Assembly of God in Ventura. A true woman of faith, she took pride to love, serve and share the Lord’s word. She will be deeply missed.Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Maria Hernandez; her brother Manuel Hernandez; and her sister Hortensia Bation.Mrs. Gomez is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Jesus C. Gomez; her children, Marie (husband Chris) Castaneda, Debbie (husband Gary) Herrera-Gomez, Jeanette (husband Jess) Herrera-Ortega, and Daniel Gomez (fiancée Miriam); stepchildren, Barbara Cervantes and Jessie Gomez, Jr.; grandchildren, Kevin, Christopher, Matthew, Gary, Monique, Gabriel, Camilla, Jesse, Jessica, Sonia, Michael, and one on the way; sisters, Amelia Perez, Tina Ruby, Linda Burboa, Lily Diaz, Martina Almanza, Elenor Guillena and Carmen Camacho; brothers, Tony Hernandez and Charles Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.Mom,When looking back on all the life lessons you’ve taught throughout the years, we realize that you’re not only a beautiful mother, but a beautiful person too.
