Mr. Mantooth has a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Northridge and a Master’s degree in School Business Administration from Pepperdine University.Mr. Mantooth holds a California Teaching Credential and a California Administrative Services Credential; has been a faculty member at Pepperdine University and the University of La Verne and is currently a part-time Faculty Lecturer at the California State University Channel Islands and Northridge campuses.Stan Mantooth is a California native and grew up in the Los Angeles area. Having learned to read at the young age of three, Mr. Mantooth remains an avid reader to this day. Mr. Mantooth is 58 years old, the father of three adult daughters and the doting grandfather of four year old Riley.“I am honored to serve as Ventura County’s Superintendent of Schools” said Mantooth. “As your County Superintendent, it is my responsibility to work with all school districts to provide the best learning environments for our children. At a public event to be held at 12:30 p.m., on Monday, November 2, 2009, at the Ventura County Government Center Courtyard, Mr. Stan Mantooth will declare his intention to seek election in his continued position as Ventura County Superintendent of Schools. As the Ventura County Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Mantooth leads the Ventura County Office of Education which provides critical economy of scale support and mandatory oversight services to local school districts to help them meet the demands of today’s students and tomorrow’s world.Stan Mantooth was appointed Ventura County Superintendent of Schools effective September 1, 2008. He has over 34 years of practical and management experience in education. Beginning in 1996, and until his appointment as County Superintendent,Mr. Mantooth served as Associate Superintendent for Administrative Services with the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE). In this role he was instrumental in the expansion of Internet and wireless microwave services to all school districts in Ventura County, the funding and construction of the new 65,000 sq. ft.
