Procter graduated with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After graduation, he attended the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree. He also has extensive experience in mediation and arbitration. Procter is a member of the Santa Barbara County, Ventura County and California State Bar Associations, as well as the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, The American Board of Trial Advocates, the Defense Research Institute and the Ventura County Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, Advance Trial Advocacy Skills Program. Procter has also served as an arbitrator and mediator for the Ventura County Superior Court. When he is not in the defense chair, Procter resides in Santa Paula with his wife and two young children, mediating toddler toys and playdates. The prestigious award, recognizing civil trial achievement coupled with a commitment to a high ethical standard, is given annually to a member of VCTLA. Procter is the first litigator to receive the award for work done from the defense chair, traditionally an honor reserved for plaintiff members.
