Free computers handed out at Glen City School

Some students at Glen City School received free computers recently. The Best Buy Corporation donated the 12 computers. Glen City Principal Raul Betancourt said the purpose of the ceremony was to do more than give out 12 computers. “It was to remind us all of the need for collaboration between home, school and community to provide our children with more options, more access through technology,” he said. “Those who received computers today represented the willingness of our families to sacrifice for their children; to do whatever it takes to become once again the first teachers of their children.”Betancourt, searching for the right computer for the children’s needs, was contacted by Paradox Community Technologies. Paradox receives computers donated by corporations to refurbish and make available to selected students and families.
