Stanley D. SalazarStanley D. Salazar, 78, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008.Stanley was a volunteer for the Santa Paula Little League as groundskeeper, and Meals On Wheels for Piru. He enjoyed Laughlin and Las Vegas trips, fishing, and sporting events, especially football and baseball, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his loving wife Eulalia “Lolly” Salazar, parents Juan and Angela Salazar, brother Nieves Salazar, and sister Mary Salazar.Stanley is survived by son John (Sheri) Salazar; grandchildren Johnny, Andrea and Ryan Salazar; brother Julio Salazar; sister Cruzie Flores; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.In Stanley’s honor, donations can be made to St. Sebastian’s School “Computer Lab”, 325 E. Santa Barbara St., Santa Paula, CA 93060; or Santa Paula Little League, 590 W. Oscar Ramos Sr.
Oscar Ramos Sr., 61, went home to the Lord November 15, 2008. He died peacefully after a lengthy illness, with his family by his side.He was born May 8, 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Leopoldo Rios Ramos Sr. and Maria Reyes Ramos. He came to California at the age of 15 ˝ with his parents and siblings. Oscar resided in Santa Paula 45 years.As a young man, he worked in the fields and Egg City in Moorpark with his father. He was employed at Calavo Citrus Growers for 33 years before his retirement.Oscar met the love of his life, Erma Vera, who became his wife of 41 years. They were blessed with four children.He was a kind, generous and dedicated son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Oscar always did everything to ensure his family’s well being. He always had an open door in his home for anyone who needed it.Oscar is survived by his wife Erma, sons Oscar Jr. and Michael, and daughters Sylvia Fonseca and Monica Najera, all of Santa Paula. He leaves behind nine grandchildren, Nicole, Louie Jr., Joseph, Alyna, Candice, Abraham, Destinee, Jasmine, and Ruben. He also leaves behind his mother, Maria Ramos; brothers, Leopoldo Jr. of Santa Paula, David (wife Joan) of Bellow Falls, Vermont, Danny (wife Susan) of Ventura, and Vicente of Rialto; and sisters, Esther Aguilar (husband Fidencio), Maria Saenz (husband Ben), Sylvia Lemons and Vivian Ramos, all of Santa Paula, and Sophia Lopez of Desert Hot Springs.The family would like to give a special Thank You to Dr. Michael Tushla and his staff for their care to Oscar Sr.Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21 beginning at 4 p.m., with Oscar’s celebration of life ceremony at 6 p.m. at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, 1029 E.
