Girls have tough time on the road and at home

The Lady Cardinal varsity volleyball team has had a tough time the past week. Rio Mesa took their match here, 3-0. Rio Mesa took games 25-19, 25-21 and 25-18. Janessa Flores had 15 digs and two aces for Santa Paula. Candace Bibb recorded six digs, two kills and four assists.The Cardinal frosh team lost in two games, 25-7 and 25-10. The JV girls lost their two games, 25-17 and 25-16.The Lady Cardinal varsity met up with Channel Islands the next day, losing in five games. The Raiders took the first two contests, 25-22 and 25-15. Santa Paula came back to with the next two, 25-20 and 27-25. Channel Islands won the tiebreaker 15-8.For Santa Paula Kristin Easley had 15 digs, eight kills and one ace. Janessa Flores had 12 digs, 18 service points and two aces. Irene Sandoval had four kills, eight digs, nine service points, one ace and one block.
The Lady Cardinals play at Rio Mesa Thursday.
