Rodriguez suffered a broken leg and complained of neck and back pain. Her child was bruised and had cuts and scratches to his face but otherwise did not suffer major injuries.Deutsch received cuts and scratches, as did the boy riding with Brown who also suffered bruises. Brown had a swollen left ankle, cuts and scratches.All the victims were transported to Ventura County Medical Center or to Community Memorial Hospital.Eastbound Highway 126 was closed for over two hours until the damaged vehicles were removed and the CHP conducted its investigation.The CHP spokesman said that the injuries to the victims could have been worse but all the adults were wearing seatbelts and the two 4-year-boys were riding in child car seats.

Two Santa Paulans were among the five people injured when a vehicle crossed over the center median on Highway 126 on Thursday, striking two other vehicles.
By Peggy KellySanta Paula TimesTwo Santa Paulans were among the five people injured when a vehicle crossed over the center median on Highway 126 on Thursday, striking two other vehicles.Lucia Rodriguez, 20, of Santa Paula was westbound on Highway 126 just east of Wells Road around 11:30 a.m. when she turned to her 4-year-old son in the backseat, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman.Rodriguez’s vehicle drifted into the center median and when she attempted to move back onto the westbound lanes, she lost control. The vehicle crossed over into the eastbound lanes and the front of Rodriguez’s car struck the front side of a pickup truck driven by John Deutsch, 59, of Oxnard.The pickup spun around and overturned and Rodriguez’s car then struck the vehicle traveling behind it, a SUV driven by Dennis Brown, 37, of Burbank, who was riding with a 4-year-old boy.One vehicle was so badly damaged that Ventura City firefighters had to use a hydraulic prying tool to free one person.
