The Santa Paula Unified School District Board has honored Bailey Van Buren, the student member on the board this past school year. Board President Diana Ponce-Gomez noted that Van Buren, a junior, had attended 14 meetings in eight months. “She was wonderful about providing all kinds of information about what was going on with the school and the students,” Ponce-Gomez said. “She just ended her school year with a 4.32 GPA. She’s a role model to all of our students and I want to thank her for devoting all of her time, giving up her evenings and fitting us in between homework and practices.” Ponce-Gomez presented Van Buren a plaque.
