The Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation Names New Chief Financial Officer

The Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce that it has named Debbie De Vay as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective January 6, 2014.
Ms. De Vay previously served as Controller for the National Childhood Cancer Foundation (NCCF) in Arcadia, California. The NCCF is a nonprofit public benefit charity which raises funds from public and private sources and allocates those revenues to support clinical and biological research conducted at childhood cancer treatment and research centers throughout North America.
De Vay served for five years as NCCF’s Controller, where she managed the finance function and daily accounting operations for the nonprofit which has a staff of 135 and more than $12 million in assets.
De Vay has a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) with a concentration in Accounting from Argosy University. She earned a Master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Santa Clara University and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant for the State of California.
Ms. De Vay has extensive experience at both for-profit and non-profit organizations, serving in various roles including accounting, finance and business administration.
CEDC welcomes Ms. De Vay into the CFO role, serving on CEDC’s senior management team, and leading an accounting staff of six. CEDC has total assets of more than $40 million, with diverse business lines including affordable housing development, construction and property management with a property portfolio of 22 communities from Camarillo to Ojai.
With 85 employees, CEDC is the 16th largest non-profit organization in the tri-counties region (by revenue) with a mission of providing comprehensive housing services and community economic development activities, through a community building approach, that facilitate self-sufficiency for individuals and families who are most lacking in opportunity in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties and adjacent areas in Los Angeles County. CEDC’s core program areas are: the development and construction of for-sale and multi-family rental housing for very-low, low, and moderate income families; homeownership education, counseling, realty and lending; property management; and community building and neighborhood revitalization.
