CHP: Minor injuries when vehicle leaves Highway 126, rolls onto roof

What could have been a major tragedy was averted late Friday evening when five people riding in a vehicle received only minor injuries in a mishap on Highway 126 near Peck Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident that occurred August 10 was reported at 11:48 p.m. When emergency responders arrived on scene they found the wreck occurred at eastbound Highway 126 and Peck Road.

According to the CHP, one vehicle had left the roadway, plowed into some bushes, and traveled about 50 feet before it rolled onto its roof. Five people inside the vehicle were transported to an area hospital with injuries that were considered minor.

More than seven rescue units and other public safety personnel - including Santa Paula Police and Santa Paula Fire - responded to the scene of the accident.
