The SoCal Halos college team won the first ever Central Coast Baseball League Championship 8 to 2 over Team Victory out of Valencia.

Allen Gwynn got the victory going 6 strong innings. He was also 2-4 at the plate earning game MVP as well as being named CCBL League MVP. Jose Hernandez, Jeremy Alvarado and Aaron Gomez all went 2-3 in the game. Patrick Wiegle, Casey Rodriguez, and Josh Grejada all pitched well to preserve the win.

The Halos went 13 and 3 in the league this summer as well playing a strong non-league schedule that included 3 teams playing in Wichita in the NBC World Series. The Halos were one inning away from qualifying for that same event.

The Halos were comprised of Ventura County College players and were coached by Jimmy Walker and David Ramirez.
