Save that money you’d put in your gas tank and take it instead to spend at the Santa Paula’s 45th Annual Kiwanis Club Citrus Festival by taking the free shuttle that will let you off right at the gates of the July 20-22 celebration at Harding Park.

The theme of this year’s festival is “When Life Gives You Lemons” and the event will show what a great time you can have by turning those lemons into a lemonade of delicious fun.

The streets around the park will be closed for the annual festival that features non-stop entertainment each day from 3 to 11 p.m. on two stages, the Bud Light Lounge and the Main Stage. All the entertainment is against a backdrop of carnival fun, with plenty of places to get fun food (dinner to cotton candy) and vendor booths for those looking for unique items.

The festival will be held Friday, 5 to 11 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, noon to 11 p.m. Admission is only $5 for adults and $2 for kids 10 and under.

The FREE shuttle will stop at the following locations: City Hall - 970 East Ventura St. (free lot parking north of Veterans Memorial Park and Yale Street and street parking nearby); the historic Railroad Depot - corner of 10th and Santa Barbara streets (free street parking and a public lot is nearby, enter the lot from Railroad Avenue); Glen City Elementary School - 141 Steckel Dr. at the corner of West Main Street (free street and lot parking nearby); and Teague Park - 500 block of West Harvard Boulevard just west of Steckel Drive (free street and lot parking nearby). The free shuttle - yes free! - will run Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday from noon to midnight.
