(Right) Robert Howard, a City of Santa Paula employee lets Tisa Grant of Tisa’s Salon & Spa, prepare his hair into several braids that will be donated to Locks of Love. Howard has been growing his hair knowing it would be donated. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses provides help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers. If you are interested in donating your hair, (required to have a length of at least 10 inches), contact Tisa at 933-3135.
