Santa Paula girls do well at State Championship tournament

Both teams make Santa Paula proud

The Santa Paula 10-Under and 12-Under softball all-stars played well at the State Championship Tournament in San Diego last weekend.
The 12-Under girls started out with a 4-1 win over Imperial Beach on Friday. Saturday they had two games and won the first but lost the second. First they beat Central Orange 9-0 and later in the day they lost to Fountain Valley 2-0. That put them in the consolation round. The Santa Paula All-Stars beat West Valley in an early Sunday game 7-5 and then lost to Colton later in the morning 6-4, knocking them out of the competition.The 10-Under girls lost their opening game to Mira Mesa Friday afternoon 4-3. They had a second chance Saturday, but missed out against Colton 9-1. Colton went on to win the 10-Under State Championship.Both Santa Paula teams can be proud of their accomplishments this season.
