Santa Paula resident Katie Patrykus, a veteran fundraiser who for more than a decade has helped generate support for some of the nation’s top art and educational institutions, has been named the Director of Development and Alumni Relations for Ojai Valley School.

In announcing Patrykus’ appointment, Michael D. Hermes, President/CEO of Ojai Valley School, said he was impressed with the breadth of her fund-raising work. Patrykus oversaw giving programs for the California Institute of the Arts, and boosted by 400% the membership base at the Phoenix Art Museum, where she served as membership manager and special events officer.

“Her recommendations were very strong and I believe our parents and alumni will find her engaging and a pleasure to deal with as we work to build an even better school,” Hermes said. “I am very pleased to welcome Katie to the Ojai Valley School community.”

A native of Michigan, Patrykus attended the University of Arizona at Tucson, where she earned a degree in fine arts and graduated magna cum laude. She served as membership services coordinator for the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, before moving to the Phoenix Art Museum and CalArts.

Patrykus lives in Santa Paula with her husband, Maurice, a firefighter for the city of Santa Paula, and their 1 1?2-year-old daughter, Rachel.
