Watercolorist Don Fay featured at SPSA demonstration meeting

Members of the Santa Paula Society of the Arts and the public are going to want to mark their art calendars for a special upcoming Demonstration meeting featuring Don Fay to be held Oct. 10.
Fay, a resident of Oxnard, graduated from the California College of Arts & Crafts and completed his formal education at the Art Center College of Design; he later studied extensively with Robert E. Wood and Sergei Bongart.After a successful career as an illustrator, designer and art director, Fay now devotes himself to painting and teaching. He is an award winning-artist in both the commercial and fine art fields and has had over 30 one man shows.Fay paints with watercolors, one of the most challenging creative mediums, and most notable of his teaching assignments are yearly Sierra seminars in Yosemite and Montecito-Sequoia. He has recently taught watercolor classes at Ventura College and the Titus-Paul Gallery in Ventura.An associate member of the National Watercolor Society, Fay is an artist member of the California Art Club, a signature member of the Gold Coast Watercolor Society and vice president of the Buenaventura Art Association.Galleries that have featured his work are the Fireside, Carmel; Starry-Sheets, Irvine; Pines, Mammoth Lakes, and Coriell, New Mexico.The SPSA's regular Demonstration meetings feature a noted county artist that demonstrates their technique while sharing their art knowledge and insights.
