How such a small band of soldiers put that on is really remarkable, a great effort for all of Santa Paula and the community.”“We have a great club in Santa Paula and I want to see it grow,” said Stock, who noted that his “lovely wife Ann” is the perfect helpmate and will be an active First Lady.Installed as 2007-2008 Officers were President Elect Bill Grant, Secretary Mary Mata, Treasurer Roger Strange, and Immediate Past President Jerry Burns. 2007-2008 Board-at-Large members Vic Glazener, David Luna, Gene Marzec, Sheryl Misenhimer, Ralph Reyes and Carol Wood were also installed for their year of duty.

Santa Paula TimesKen Stock offered thanks for a job well done and discussed his plans for the year ahead as Kiwanis Club of Santa Paula president when he was installed during a September 23 luncheon held at The Grove at the Glen Tavern Inn. The installation was attended by area Kiwanians and District leaders including Lt. Governor Fred Robinson of Santa Paula and Past Lt. Governor Mike Wesner, as well as Past Club President Jerry Burns.Santa Paula Kiwanis - a member of the California/Nevada/Hawaii District 42 - was chartered in 1948. The Kiwanian motto is “Serving the children of the world.”“I want to recognize some Santa Paula Kiwanians for great work,” including 43-year club member Vic Glazener, and Carol Wood, “a new member who has been a great help,” said Stock. The club also received praise from Wesner, who noted the growing success of the Annual Kiwanis Club Citrus Parade & Festival.“I want you to reflect on the last 12 months... what was the moment that you were a Kiwanian? We’re the ones that do things that others don’t,” with special emphasis on children and youth projects and programs. Wesner said that “Kiwanians are the ones who make it run happier, smoother and sooner.”“I want to thank you for being a part of my team,” Robinson told Stock, who he re-gifted with the club’s gavel that had been “borrowed” by the Santa Susana Kiwanis Club at a recent multi-club event. “You’re being installed as leaders and officers of a great club,” Robinson told Stock and his incoming Board of Directors.
