Union Bank seeks young artists for Hispanic Heritage month contest

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Union Bank of California, N.A., in partnership with Staples, is encouraging young artists ages 12-18 in Santa Paula and throughout Ventura County, to participate in its sixth annual Young Artist Contest.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Union Bank of California, N.A., in partnership with Staples, is encouraging young artists ages 12-18 in Santa Paula and throughout Ventura County, to participate in its sixth annual Young Artist Contest. Entry forms will be available from September 4 through October 15 at participating Union Bank branches countywide and on the Internet at www.unionbank.com/youngartist.The contest is open to youth of all ethnicities. Winners will be selected in late October in two age categories, 12-15 and 16-18.First-place winners in each category will receive $1,000 and $1,000 matching award for the first-prize-winner’s school. Second- and third-place winners will receive $500 and $250, respectively. Additionally, Staples-a sponsor of the event-will present winners with additional prizes including gift cards and digital cameras. The contest will run during Hispanic Heritage Month from September 4 through October 15. Contest participants may submit an original 8.5” X 11” drawing based on the theme “Hispanic Heritage/Culture” to any of the participating Union Bank branches. Beginning September 4, participating branch locations may be found by visiting Union Bank’s Web site at www.unionbank.com/youngartist and entry forms will be available at the Santa Paula Union Bank branch located at 634 E. Main St. A completed form signed by a parent or legal guardian, must accompany all entries. The deadline for entering is October 15.The sixth annual contest is sponsored in conjunction with other activities and events Union Bank hosts during Hispanic Heritage Month.
