Flag raising ceremony held July 4th

Boy Scout Troop 309 conducted a Fourth of July flag raising ceremony at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 604 Ojai Road. Scoutmaster Guy Mansfield said the patriotic ceremony included retiring the old flag, which means proper destruction of the old flag and then ceremoniously raising a new one. After the brief outdoor flag ceremony a pancake breakfast was served to all in attendance.Patriotic neighbors and members of the local community were all invited to enjoy a safe and friendly celebration of our nation’s 239th birthday by joining with Boy Scout Troop 309 as they demonstrated respect for our nation’s flag.
