Luisa (Montiel) Rodriguez
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister, Luisa (Montiel) Rodriguez. Our “Prietita” left this earth to be reunited with our Heavenly Father on January 20, 2011.
Luisa was born on May 27, 1949 in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, to the union of Maximino Montiel and Ricarda (Deciga) Montiel. In 1968, at the age of 19, with her parents and younger brother Ruben she moved to Santa Paula.
Shortly thereafter she met the love of her life and eternal partner, Nestor Rodriguez. Nestor and Luisa were married on July 31, 1971, and for eternity in April of 1986.
Luisa worked as a seamstress for Olga Fashion Development, then Lucy Ann, in Santa Paula for over 20 years. She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 27 years.
Luisa enjoyed spending time with her Daughters and Grandchildren, and enjoyed many soccer and baseball games and dance recitals. She also enjoyed crocheting and taking care of her garden.
She is survived by her husband, Nestor Rodriguez and her Daughters, Leticia Rodriguez-Harper (Don), Corinna Cabacungan (Tom), and Karina Alaniz (Elias). She is also survived by her beloved Grandchildren: Brandon and Evan Cabacungan, Aubree and Nathan Alaniz, and Donald Jr. and Alex Harper; brothers Jose, Jesus, Francisco and Ruben Montiel; and sisters Vasilisa y Petra Zavala.
Words cannot begin to express the loss we feel that we will no longer have you “Momma” to enlighten us with your sweet smile and gentle touches, but knowing that you are finally free of the pain you endured all these years and finally reuniting with your “Papa y Mama” in heaven brings us comfort. Your strength and unconditional love for us will forever live on in our hearts and minds.
We love you “Sweetheart.”
Hasta que nos reunamos nuevamente con tigo “Corazoncito,” que goses con los Angelitos.
