Fillmore 'lightning' strikes JV basketball, but Frosh team tops Flashes

The Santa Paula JV had a tough time last Wednesday, losing to Fillmore 54-40. The Flashes pretty much dominated the court, ending the first half with a 24-16 advantage. The Cardinal freshmen started off the evening with a 65-43 victory over Fillmore. The frosh five led by forwards Daniel Kolbeck and Josh Aguirre, took control of the game from the start, ending the first half with a 35-24 lead.The JV lost their game earlier in the week against the Channel Islands Raiders, 51-48. This was a close contest all the way through, with never more than a few points separating the two teams.The Freshman Cards had a rougher time, losing their game to the Raiders, 61-51.
The boys travel to Oaks Christian next Tuesday for their first League games.
