The second game was closer, with Santa Paula losing to Buena 54-42. Lakewood (from the Long Beach School District) beat the Cards 71-53. In the final game, for seventh place Nordhoff beat Santa Paula 54-39.

The Santa Paula varsity boys spent much of their holiday break playing in the Ventura Kiwanis Varsity Tournament.
The Cardinals played hard, but were up against older, more experienced players. The Cards are playing with a young team again this year, with only three seniors on the squad.The Cardinals lost their first game to Pacifica 75-37. Pacifica dominated the court, but Angel Camarillo and Chepe Lara stood out for Santa Paula. Camarillo had eight points and 11 rebounds. Lara recorded 11 points with nine rebounds.
