Santa Paula High School senior Amanda Reed honored for outstanding achievement

The Superintendent of Public Instruction, Delaine Easton, has recognized Santa Paula High School senior Amanda Reed for her outstanding achievement on the 2002 Assessment in Careers Education - Agricultural Core. The ACE examinations are administered throughout the state of California and over 14,700 completed examinations this past spring in several career areas that included: Agricultural Core, Computer Science and Information, Food Service and Hospitality, Health Care and Technology Core.A total of 13 agricultural students from SPHS took the Agricultural Core assessment; five earned recognition awards and Amanda received Honors recognition. Assistant Principal Lorenzo Moraza presented the award at the January 15 School Board meeting, noting that in addition to the certificate from the State Superintendent of Instruction, Amanda will have a notation on her school transcript and an insignia on her high school diploma. The insignia will stand as a symbol of outstanding achievement to institutions of higher learning and future employers.
