Vice Mayor Laura Espinosa's name will not be on November ballot

Ventura County Superior Court Judge Melinda Johnson ruled today that Laura Espinosa failed to file her papers for Santa Paula City Council election on time. Johnson ruled in favor of Richard D. Dean, County Clerk, that Espinosa's name would not appear on the November ballot. Johnson cited State Election Laws that required that incumbents must file for offce by the 88th day before the November election.
