George Llewellyn PaganGeorge Llewellyn Pagan, age 81, of Santa Paula, passed away March 3, 2002 at home from pulmonary fibrosis. He was born December 12, 1920 in Hayden, New Mexico, and was a Santa Paula resident for 24 years.George graduated from Fillmore High School in 1940. He attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, then worked at Lockheed in Burbank until the Army called him. He joined the Air Force and went to school to be a navigator. He went into cadet training and became a radar instructor. When the war ended George was discharged as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was in the reserves, and in 1951 he was recalled during the Korean War. He worked as a radar navigator with a refueling squadron, but instead of Korea his squadron was sent to England. He was discharged in 1953 as a 1st Lieutenant.In 1946 George started working for Union Oil Company at the gas plant at Del Valle. He worked for Union Oil as a petroleum technician, retiring in 1982 after 36 years.In 1977 George and his family moved to Santa Paula, where he loved remodeling their home. He loved traveling, camping, fishing, backpacking, and his horse.His pride and joy was the California Oil Museum, where he had had an office for 17 years. George spent many hours doing repairs, and was a docent from 1990 until shortly before his passing. He will be missed by many.He is survived by his wife, Kathryn of Santa Paula; daughter and son-in-law Joy and Curran Cummings of Moorpark; grandsons, Curran III, Andrew, Samuel, Matthew and Nathaniel of Moorpark; sister, Alice Millington of Gridley, CA; brothers, Jack Pagan and Leon Pagan, both of Fall River Mills, CA and Bill Pagan of Scottsdale, Arizona; and the family of Bernice Kalland. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bertha Pagan.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m. in the California Oil Museum park.Contributions may be made in his memory to the California Oil Museum.Eulala Keller
Eulala Keller, age 85, of Ventura, passed away March 1, 2002. She was born November 20, 1916 in Louisburg, Missouri, and was a county resident for 78 years, coming from Indio, California.Mrs. Keller was self-employed and the owner of Eulala’s Beauty Shop, a beautician for 51 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ventura. She was also a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians since 1982. She was LSOA California Professional Regular Parliamentarian in 1987, and a member of Xi Tau Unit and Zeta Chi Unit since 1990. At the time of her death she was a retired Professional Regular Parliamentarian in retired status.Mrs. Keller was also a member of the Santa Paula Ebell Club, Ventura Women’s Association, Kiwanianns, Santa Paula Alumni Association, Friendship Club of Ventura, Santa Paula Soroptimist, and a past member of the Santa Paula Toastmistress Club.She is survived by her daughter, Judie Ann Cooper of Bakersfield; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and sisters, Ferba Foster of Bay Minette, Alabama, Hildreth Levally of Santa Paula, and Thelma Daries of Ventura. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey M. Keller.Graveside services were held at Santa Paula Cemetery March 6, with the Rev. Don Loomer officiating.Arrangements were under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, Santa Paula.Death NoticeJose Pablo Camarena, age 60, Santa Paula, died March 5, 2002.
