Santa Paula News

The Santa Paula Unified School District has informed the officers of the Santa Paula Football Booster Club that it will disassociate itself from their group and will no longer accept its support for its athletic programs for the remainder of the 2013-2014 school year.

This decision comes after miscommunication between well-intentioned members of the Athletics Department and the Football Booster Club resulted in a public disagreement witnessed by athletes and parents following the game against Santa Maria High School.  The District has requested that the Boosters not use the District’s name, athletic programs and logos for financial purposes or fundraising on behalf of the District’s athletic programs.

The District also expressed a desire to clarify the roles and expectations for an ongoing relationship with the Football Boosters.  Until clarification can be attained, the District believes it is best for students and its athletic programs to disassociate from the Football Boosters at this time.

Support for the Santa Paula High School Athletic Department is always welcome.  Any individuals and businesses wishing to support the Athletic Department should contact Athletic Director, Danny Guzman, directly at (805) 525-4400 ext. 9702
