Moonlight returns to Limoneira headquarters! Reserve ‘feasting’ tables

This year Moonlight at the Ranch VI: “Creatures of the Night!” returns to historic Limoneira Ranch Headquarters, 1141 Cummings Rd. in Santa Paula, and you’ll want to be the “afterlife” of the party while enjoying the “feasting” at a reserved table for eight!
You’ll want to enjoy Moonlight in creature comfort and all you and your friends have to do to reserve a table is purchase the eight tickets at once. This special offer is available only for tickets purchased at the Santa Paula Times, 944 E. Main St., or those charged by phone by calling 805-525-1890.
“We know Moonlighters enjoy attending our annual celebration with family, friends and - perhaps this year - fiends,” said Peggy Kelly, chair of this year’s celebration. “And there are so many people that love Moonlight that sometimes group seating for those who want to stay together during the ‘second half’ of our exciting event is a challenge” that Kelly said reserving tables will eliminate.
She added, “The Moonlight Committee is also excited that this community celebration is returning to Limoneira Ranch parks and headquarters.... And as usual, our guests won’t believe how we transform the area to reflect our ‘Creatures of the Night!’ theme.”
The September 22 Moonlight will pay tribute to the immortal stars Bela Lugosi (“Count Dracula”) and Boris Karloff (“Frankenstein’s Monster”). Bela Lugosi Jr. and Sara Karloff, the late stars’ children, are the special guests at this “Creatures of the Night!” celebration.
“Creatures of the Night!” will rule at the Limoneira Park and Bocce Ball Courts starting at 6 p.m., with cocktails at no-host bars including Bloody Marys and Karl Strauss Brewery’s hearty “Oktoberfest,” the only Bavarian beer poured at Dr. Frankenstein’s castle. At 7 p.m. guests will “pass on” to the Ranch headquarters for “feasting,” tastings from dozens of fine restaurants offering cuisine every zombie will love.
Feel like dancing on a grave? At 8 p.m. there will be monster mashing with entertainment by that ghoulishly great band Men on the Moon, revealing what DID happen to the Transylvania Twist!
From Dracula and Frankenstein’s monster to “Ghostbusters,” anything with a monstrous touch will be the perfect way to attend Moonlight. We promise to scare up an unforgettable evening.
Not up to dressing as your favorite Creature? Don’t let your mood be in a Black Lagoon - any creature of the night is welcome, from Disco Queen to PJ wearers; you can even come as yourself, casual to dressy!
“Creatures of the Night!” promises to be a “Thriller” of an evening, where you’ll have a “Scream” of a great time while you get your zombie on. You’ll get a jolt out of our electrodes at this adults-only celebration with its unique raffles and ghoulish fun.
Feeling a little drained? Don’t worry about your energy level; if you’re dead on your feet you’ll still fit in perfectly at Moonlight’s “Creatures of the Night!”
Tickets - only $60 each! - are available in Santa Paula at the Chamber of Commerce, 200 N. 10th St.; The Best of VC Marketplace, 108 N. 10th St.; and the Santa Paula Times, 944 E. Main Street. Tickets are also available at The Wine Rack, 14 S. California St., Ventura.
