Santa Paula News
The Santa Paula High School (SPHS) Agriculture-Science Academy received a generous donation of $2,000 from Limoneira Company of Santa Paula. A major objective of the Academy is that its graduates go to college and earn a four-year degree. The Academy graduates its first class this June, and currently 21 seniors have been accepted into a major four-year university. For many of these students, they are the first in their families to go to college. These students are braving a new world with many challenges and difficulties. Limoneira Company has helped to make it possible for these hard working students to realize their dream of obtaining a college education that will improve the quality of life for the students, their families and our community. The Santa Paula High School Agriculture-Science Academy is fortunate and extremely appreciative that Limoneira has given their generous support not only in money but also in time mentoring Academy students. Chris Taylor, senior vice president of Limoneira, is a founding Academy Board member; he generously gives his time and efforts to the SPHS Agriculture-Science Academy.
Limoneira is a company that supports its community. This brings to mind the familiar adage - “It takes a village to raise a child.” With caring and compassionate companies like Limoneira, the “village” of Santa Paula is raising one of its greatest “crops” ever, our children. Thank you Limoneira Company!
