April 21, 2006
Santa Paula High School
The Santa Paula High School Theater Team is doing it again, “putting on a play of such magnitude the entire community will be proud to talk about it,” says Director Cico Yzaguirre. This year, Yzaguirre and Technical Director Basil Augustine have chosen the play “The Diary of Anne Frank” by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman, to be performed in the high school’s Freeman Eakin Auditorium. “Participants have been taking this production very seriously, handling it with great care and thoughtfulness,” Yzaguirre noted. “It is bound to be a deep yet entertaining performance.”The cast features students from Isbell as well as SPHS, “...sure to capture their audience and whisk them away to a time not too long ago in a tiny annex in the center of Amsterdam and, ultimately, World War II. ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ will educate as well as emotionally move all who experience this historical drama.”Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 11 through 13 and 18 through 20 at 7 p.m. Saturday matinees are also scheduled for May 13 and 20 at 1 p.m. For tickets and information, please call (805) 290-0218.
