Alice Ellen McCarty Alice Ellen McCarty, 94, of Santa Paula, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005 at Twin Pines Convalescent Hospital after a brief illness.Alice was born on May 25, 1910 in Glendora, CA to George and Mary Beebe. She came to Ventura County when she was about 16 or so, and had lived here for 78 years.Alice was a cafeteria cook for the Santa Paula School District. She had cooked at almost every school in the district and knew most of the children during her 40 years of service. She retired in 1969.Alice was a member of First Christian Church, past member of the Eagle Auxiliary, and a past member of the Independent Order of Foresters, all in Santa Paula. She loved knitting, crocheting, and camping. She will be remembered for the beautiful wedding cakes she made for family and friends.Alice is survived by her loving family and many friends who will miss her dearly: daughter and son-in-law Debra and Charles Bell and son James McCreary, all of Santa Paula; daughter Georgia Lea Baker of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Frances Wallace of Medford, Oregon; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
