Velma Loree Cox
Velma Loree Cox, a long-time resident of Santa Paula, passed away at rest and in peace on Friday the 11th of March in her home surrounded by family and friends.
She was born in Tulare, CA, on May 26th, 1942, the daughter of hard working parents who had traveled to the West from Texas in the aftermath of the Dust Bowl.
Velma loved socializing with friends and family and enjoyed gardening. She was known for her indomitable strength and warm, caring spirit.
She is survived by her children, Millard and Donald Cox, and grandchildren, Amber, Robert, and Eric Cox, Ryan Aronhalt; brother Johnny Britton, sister Shirley Fergerson, as well as several extended family members. They brought great joy to her later years.
The funeral service will be held at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery on Friday, March 25th at noon. The Skillin-Caroll Mortuary, Santa Paula, has been entrusted with arrangements.
