Realizing swim lessons are essential, important and fun, community members Kathleen Hobson, Lupe Ortiz, Alice Romero, Dorcas Thille and other anonymous donors rallied together and raised funds to provide five weeks of swimming lessons for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley.  The funds raised has made it possible for YMCA staff to come and teach one hour of swimming lessons at the Santa Paula High School pool as well as provided staffing and swimsuits for club members.  During the lessons members are learning the basics of swimming including kicking, arm motions, breathing, floating and safety.  The Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley is very thankful for our caring community supporters that have allowed our children to be introduced to swimming in a safe and fun environment.  We are hopeful our youth will continue this great exercise for the rest of their lives.  The ladies would like to continue offering swimming lessons for years to come and are asking other community members who may be interested in being part of this tradition to contact the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley at (805) 525-7910
