Gold Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce supporting Measure G

The Board of Directors of the Gold Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce announced today their unanimous support and endorsement for Measure G - Limoneira Company’s East Area I homes and community development proposal - which will appear on the June 3rd ballot in Santa Paula. The Board and members of the Hispanic Chamber made the announcement this afternoon at the Limoneira Pavilion in Santa Paula and participated in a photo opportunity with senior leadership from Limoneira Company, including President and CEO Harold S. Edwards and Senior Vice President Alex M. Teague. “The Board of the Gold Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to give our strongest endorsement of Measure G on the June 3rd ballot,” said Board Chair Mary Howard. “This housing and community development proposal will be a wonderful addition to the Heritage Valley, helping provide much-needed revenue for the City of Santa Paula, creating jobs, and lifting up all of the communities throughout the region with open space, educational facilities, light industry and a beautiful new housing community. East Area I is just the project this community needs to reach its goals of sustainability and prosperity into the future and we commend the Limoneira Company for their vision and commitment. We encourage voters in Santa Paula to vote YES for Measure G on Tuesday, June 3rd.”Located at the Teague-McKevett Ranch at Hallock Drive and Highway 126, East Area 1 will provide Santa Paula and the region with many benefits including: the preservation of more than 40% of the land as agricultural and open space forever; a new state-of-the-art elementary school; $4 million for a new fire station and new equipment; new, high-quality affordable homes for teachers, police, firefighters, health care providers, and city/county employees; almost double the current local recreational land for sports fields; $5.5 million toward the cost of a new waste water treatment plant; housing and conveniences for seniors to carry out an active lifestyle; and more than 1,000 new jobs created upon build out.The Gold Coast Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is the newest and only regional Chambers of Commerce on the Central Coast.
