The Congress of California Seniors, a leading senior advocacy and education group has re-elected Henry L. “Hank” Lacayo of Newbury Park to a fourth term as State President.

The Congress of California Seniors, a leading senior advocacy and education group has re-elected Henry L. “Hank” Lacayo of Newbury Park to a fourth term as State President.Meeting for its 30th anniversary gathering at the Coast Long Beach Hotel, the 650,000 member organization elected officers for two-year terms to lead the statewide group. In addition to Lacayo, delegates elected Alicia Flores, President/CEO of La Hermandad from Oxnard, and Eva McClain, President Northern California Homeowners Coalition, from Rocklin, of as new vice presidents, and from Santa Barbara Bill Regis, president-elect of the Calif. State Employees Association Retirees, as board member, to join a diverse board of 35 senior activists.Delegates heard from Lt. Governor John Garamendi, had speakers from around California including Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster, and adopted more than a dozen resolutions on issues ranging from affordable housing to universal healthcare and reform of Medicare drug programs which will be used to guide the group’s advocacy activities on behalf of California seniors in the year ahead.
