Santa Paula News
The July 21 armed robbery of a recycling center continues to be investigated by Santa Paula Police, according to a department spokesman.
Sgt. Ken Clark said the incident occurred at about 7:50 a.m. in the area just east of Tresierras Market, located in the 200 block of East Harvard Boulevard.
Clark said two men approached the outdoor business, “And at least one man had a gun,” that was displayed when cash was demanded of the recycling cashier, the lone worker on scene.
Once the suspects received the money they ran off and fled south along the perimeter fence of Highway 126.
Clark said the crime was not reported immediately: “There was a delay from the time it occurred to when police were notified... there was no phone at the scene and the worker flagged down a security guard who called police. There was at least a 20-minute delay... that didn’t help.”
The victim was only able to offer a “Pretty vague description,” of the suspects, who he told police, “Showed up, pulled out a gun, took his money and were gone just as quickly... “
No one was injured during the incident.
