She was involved in community activities with her family. Among these were Job’s Daughters, United Methodist Youth Fellowship (leader and participant), Cub Scouts, and AAU Swim Team.
She was an avid reader, and enjoyed the advances of technology. She loved her family’s yearly gatherings at the beach house. She played computer games and puzzles. She was very active in the United Methodist Church by creating programs, costumes and handicrafts. She is known for her bird collections and her Dodger blue blood.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Owen Louis Bird, and her children: Richard (Judy) Bird of El Centro, CA, Larry of San Antonio, TX, Dan of Grapevine, TX and Nancy Bird of Santa Paula, CA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michelle (Armando) Marquez, Michael Bird, and William and Thomas Bird; and great-grandchildren Cobain and Emily Marquez.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 19 at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Paula.
