Global Climate Change forum scheduled in Santa Paula April 25th

The Santa Paula Unit of the League of Women Voters and the Ventura County League of Women Voters will present a community forum on Global Climate Change on Saturday, April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Santa Paula Community Center, 530 W. Main Street.

The Santa Paula Unit of the League of Women Voters and the Ventura County League of Women Voters will present a community forum on Global Climate Change on Saturday, April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Santa Paula Community Center, 530 W. Main Street. A discussion will follow speakers’ presentations.Three speakers will be featured: a professor from UCSB, an engineer from the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District, and an architect affiliated with the U.S. Green Building Council and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).Dr. Catherine Gautier is a professor of Geography, Earth System Science and Global Warming at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a former associate director and research meteorologist, Scripps Institute of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego. Dr. Gautier will be speaking on “Causes and Effects of Global Climate Change on Our World.”
Donald R. Price is an engineer with the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District. His topic involves ways we can reduce our impact on Global Warming and save money at the same time.Architect Kara Davis is a member of the California Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council and LEED. She will be speaking on how individuals and cities can utilize green building techniques, using available funding, to assist them in making their homes and businesses more energy efficient.Come and learn the facts and what you can do!
