Guadalupe A. Reyes
Guadalupe A. Reyes of Santa Paula passed away Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the age of 87.
Mrs. Reyes was born in Durango, Mexico on November 11, 1917. After marrying Pablo V. Reyes in 1939, they both came to Santa Paula, and had been residents since.
Guadalupe was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Santa Paula, and a member of Young Ladies Institute. She enjoyed gardening, visiting with her family and friends, and traveling with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, her son-in-law Clarence F. Hines, and her grandson Michael Paul Hines.
Mrs. Reyes is survived by daughters Hilda A. Hines and Irma (Richard) Romero; sons, Augie (Victoria) and Paul (Gloria); grandchildren, Cynthia (Frankie) Cardenas, Patricia (Steven) Foster, Kevin Hines, Augie Reyes, Jr., Ninette (Mark) Sena, Jonathan (Felicia) Reyes, Christina Reyes, Phillip (Christina) Romero, and Brian and Laura Romero; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. at Skillin-Carroll Mortuary on Thursday, July 28. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 427 N. Oak St., Santa Paula. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 29 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 9 a.m., with burial to follow at Santa Paula Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 738 E. Santa Paula St. in Santa Paula.
