He is survived by his wife, Donna of Santa Paula; father, Harry Franchi and wife Dorothy of Roseville; sister, Penny Stanley of Alameda; children, Anthony Franchi and his wife Ann Marie of Alameda, March Franchi of Santa Paula, Tina Moschetti of Provo, UT, Traci Jump and her husband Edward of Santa Paula. He will always be remembered as “Papa” to his five grandchildren, Anthony Franchi II, Alexa Franchi, Ian Jump, Nathan Jump and Dylan Franchi.The viewing took place on Thursday at Skillin-Carrol Mortuary of Santa Paula. Counselors were summoned by the Santa Paula Union High School campus on Tuesday after news that a popular member of the security staff had passed away unexpectedly.
Paul Richard Franchi, 52, of Santa Paula, died suddenly at home early Tuesday morning of a stroke.The students at SPUHS, where he had worked for several years in the security division, “Really liked him, especially at Renaissance High School, where he was adored,” said SPUHS Superintendent Dr. Bill Brand. “It was a shock and a terrible loss to us all, especially the students. . .he was extremely well-liked and highly thought of, respected.”Counselors were on site Tuesday to help students and staff deal with their grief, added Dr. Brand.A native of Alameda, Franchi was the son of Harry and LuJean Franchi and graduated from Alameda High School before managing the family business, Alameda Muffler Shop.His obituary noted that “Paul was loved by many,” and he “loved working with the students and staff of Santa Paula High and Renaissance High schools. His family, friends and students will miss him dearly.”
