Lady Cardinals win first Frontier League game

The Lady Cards took their first league game Tuesday.  The final was: Santa Paula 67, Malibu 22.

Santa Paula outscored Malibu in all four quarters.  Scoring for Santa Paula: Felicia Magana, 24 points (7-10 from 2 point range, 3-4 from 3point range), 2 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 assists.  Kayla Stockton, 16 points (8-11 from 2 point range), 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 blocks.  Elissa Rico, 5 points, (2-3 from 2 point range, 1-2 free throws, ) 5 free throws, 1 steal, 3 blocks.  Miranda Magana, 4 points (1-10 from 2 point range, 2-8 foots,) 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 assist, 1 block.    Danya Zizumbo, 2 points (1-2 from 2 point range), 1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 assist.  Ciara Ramirez,  2 points (1-1 from 2 point range).    Lizzette Ramirez, 1 point (0-5 from 2 pt range, 1-4 free throws),  4 rebounds,  steals, 4 assists.  Monica Castanon, 5 points (1-4 from 2 point range, 3-7 free throws), 1 rebound, 5 steals, 2 assists. Mariah Dominguez, 3 points (0-2 from 2 point range, 1-1 from 3 point range), 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 assists.  Yesenia Mancilla, 5 points (2-9 from 2 point range, 1-2 free throws), 4 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist, 1 block.  Lupita Ramirez, 1 point (0-6 from 2 point range, 0-2 from 3 point range, 1-2 free throws), 1 rebound.  

“The Lady Cards showed up to play,” said Coach Mark Blankenship.  “The Ladies played great D throughout the contest, never giving up double digit scoring in any quarter of play.  All of Malibu’s 2nd quarter points came from the charity stripe.   A good way to start Frontier League play.”

Santa Paula is now 7-8 overall, 1-0 in the Frontier League.
