Ventura County Fair now open through August 15

The Ventura County Fair opened Wednesday with a large crowd in attendance. Above is Main Street at the Fair grounds on Wednesday afternoon. The Fair continues through August 15. General Admission Prices: Adults 13 & older $10; Children 6-12 $7; Seniors 62 and older $7; Children 5 & under and Super Seniors (100 years and over) admitted free! Ride tickets are 75 cents each, and rides take between three and seven tickets. Carnival Wristband Days are Monday, August 9, Tuesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 12.

Dollar Days sponsored by Pepsi are Wednesday, August 11, when entry to the Fair is $1 until 3 p.m. Youth Day is Friday, August 6, and all fair visitors 12 years of age and younger will be admitted free all day. Seniors and Persons with Disabilities Day is Tuesday, August 10 (open at 10 a.m. on this special day), when all senior citizens age 62 and older and all handicapped persons will be admitted free for this special day in celebration of their vigor and vitality. Special exhibits, displays and entertainment are on tap all day.  Military Appreciation Day is Thursday, August 12. All military personnel holding a current valid military I.D. will be admitted free.
