Virginia Lopez Guevara

Panorama City

With sadness in their hearts the Lopez-Guevara Family would like to announce the passing of wife, mother, grandma (Tutu), and sister who was called home to be with the Lord and Savior after a long illness, with her loving family by her bedside.

Virginia was the third out of 11 children, which consisted of five girls and six boys. She was born on September 14, 1923 to Juan Manuel Lopez and Herminia Nunez Lopez.

Virginia was all about her family, and always showing her love towards them and the people she encountered along the way. She always made time for herself by traveling, dancing and cooking. What brought a smile on her face and joy in her heart was her only grandson Nikas, who she spoiled and granted his every wish, by him counting on his 1-(800) grandma for that “Yes” answer.

She leaves behind her husband and best friend of 67 years, August Guevara, formerly from Rancho Sespe and Santa Paula, daughter Rochelle “Letty” Jahner of Panorama City, a grandson Nikas “Keith” Jahner of San Francisco and daughter Brenda (husband Tom) Ralston of Anchorage, Alaska. She will be deeply missed and live on in the hearts of her family and those who loved her forever.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, July 17 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 12 noon, located at 1048 W. Ventura St. (Hwy 126) in Fillmore, with Father Arthur Gruzka officiating. A reception will immediately follow at El Pescador Restaurant in Fillmore.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Skillin Carroll Mortuary, 600 N.  Central Ave., Fillmore, CA 93015.
