Woman arrested after allegedly stabbing boyfriend

An early morning incident of domestic violence last week left a Santa Paula man suffering from a potentially life-threatening stab wound and his girlfriend arrested on suspicion of various charges tied to the attack.

By Peggy KellySanta Paula TimesAn early morning incident of domestic violence last week left a Santa Paula man suffering from a potentially life-threatening stab wound and his girlfriend arrested on suspicion of various charges tied to the attack.According to Santa Paula Police Lieutenant Troyce Reynolds, the incident occurred Sunday, November 8 at about 3:45 a.m. when SPPD officers were dispatched to a report of domestic violence occurring at a residence in the 600 block of West Santa Barbara Street. Upon arrival, officers found that during an altercation with his girlfriend, Luis Romero, 27, had suffered what Reynolds said was a “substantial laceration to his left arm.”
SPPD officers called for assistance from Santa Paula Fire Department EMTs, who treated Romero at the scene. Although suffering from what could have been a life-threatening wound, Romero declined to be transported to Santa Paula Hospital.Romero’s girlfriend, Crystal Orejel, 24, also of Santa Paula, was arrested on charges of suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and spousal battery. Orejel was transported to Ventura County Jail.
