(Right) Donald Tello, Division President of Santa Paula Community Bank, is seen presenting funds to the Santa Paula Society of the Arts representatives (left) Lynda Gruber and (center) Virginia Gunderson. The society is pleased the Santa Paula Community Bank is continuing the support of the Douglas Shively Award of Merit. The award is presented to one artist or photographer from each of the 5 categories in the current 72nd Santa Paula Art and Photography show from votes cast by entrants in the show. The “Jury of Peers” cash award, as it is commonly known, was presented by Tello at the Awards Reception at Blanchard Community Library after all the ballots had been counted. This donation continues a tradition started in memory of Shively who was the founder of the show in 1937 as well as the president of Citizens State Bank for over 45 years. The society was grateful to the Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, who also provided funds for the category; now we are justifiably proud to accept the check for the awards and the ribbons from the Santa Paula Community Bank, a division of Ojai Community Bank.
