The first in a series of Neighborhood Watch organizational meetings will be held Thursday, October 23 at 7 pm at Bedell School.

The first in a series of Neighborhood Watch organizational meetings will be held Thursday, October 23 at 7 pm at Bedell School. The purpose is to organize the entire neighborhoods of the Oaks and Royal Oaks, and the community is invited to attend and observe this organizatiion process.Sgt David Lusk from the SP police department will present the Neighborhood Watch Safety program. This effort will be supported by CERT trained volunteers in each neighborhood trained by Captain Steve Lazenby of the SP Fire Department.According to Mike Gray, CERT spokesman., “We hope to bring together the organizations of Neighborhood Watch and members of the Community Emergency response teams in order to make our community safer.”
CERT Organizer, Martha Reynolds-Brown hopes that this effort will become a model for the entire community of Santa Paula. “We believe that a great community is also a safe community.
